@malkintrash.bsky.social In a sense intergenerational trauma is at the centre of this book: the authors grandmother committed suicide.

A lot of the other workers portrayed work obsessively not only for their own pension but also to make sure that their children back home can marry(买房买车生子).

@feinsod.bsky.social Nah, PDFs are not better, it’s just that the instant gratification of downloading them gives a stronger dopamine kick…

But you miss out on the feeling of picking up a still warm pile of papers from the copier tray.

@bengtssonz.bsky.social ”The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.”

Om den här grafen som har valsat runt på mina socmed stämmer (stort ”om”: jag har inte gjort nån research och är helt okunnig i ekonomisk historia) så känns det inte som att en börskrasch nödvändigtvis är nära förestående.

@bokane.org In the introduction Kroll writes that 河嶽 (river[s]! and “alps”) is an elegant way of saying 山水 (landscape, countryside), but surely it is more specific? His own dictionary says that 河 is The River (the yellow one) and 嶽 are the five sacred peaks, so: “between The River and the Sacred Peaks”?

I suppose I should get my act together and finish it.
